About Trust

Hope Trust India is a Non profit Non Governmental Charity Organization founded by Dr.Babu Narendran and Dr.Sally Narendran, the Medical couple who came to the jungle villages of Mudumalai wild sanctuary in the year 1987.Hope Trust is registered with the State government of Tamil Nadu as well as Home Ministry of India.

Hope Trust has a holistic approach catering to the material, social and spiritual needs of the aboriginals called Tribals and also that of the people in the remote villages of south India. Hope Trust India is running Village Clinic for the Tribals and villagers of Masinagudi, Mudumalai ( Good Shepherd Village Clinic) Orphanage for the orphan children (Good Shepherd Home for the children) and A English school for the Tribal and village kids of Mudumalai ( Good Shepherd Matriculation School) The People group in this tribal belt belong to the Tribes of   “Kurumba” “Irula” and “Paniya”  and the native ethnic groups speaking Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil. Even though the Tribals do have their own deities symbolizing natural forces, generally they are influenced by the Hindu way of Idol worships and there are number of temples in their villages. All kinds of pagan practices are practiced to please their deities including fire walking and animal sacrifices.

After the 20 years of labor   by Dr.Babu and Dr.Sally, though many people heard the gospel and accepted the Lord, only 30 to 35 of them keep the testimony and live according to Bible. Most of these people were gained either through the hospital contact or through the School or through the village feeding programs. They sincerely pursue the Lord through prayer and reading the Bible and attend Church meetings and small group meetings. A good number of grown up children (all of them are coming from Hindu or Tribal background) also enjoy the Lord and live according to the Lord in true faith and absoluteness.

Schooling and medical facilities are also remote possibilities for these people. Now Good Shepherd Matriculation School is a lasting solution for this problem
